Refund & Cancellation Policy
At Thamb, we strive to provide a seamless and sacred experience for every booking. This policy outlines the rules governing cancellations, reschedules, and refunds for puja bookings made through our platform.
By booking a service on Thamb, you agree to the terms stated in this policy.
1. Payment Structure
All bookings follow a two‑part payment model:
- 40% — Advance payment collected at the time of booking confirmation.
- 60% — Balance payment collected after successful completion of the puja/service.
The 40% advance secures your booking slot and pandit assignment. The remaining 60% is due only after the service is delivered to your satisfaction.
2. Cancellation Before Service (Only 40% Advance at Risk)
2.1 Cancellation Timing & Refund on Advance Paid
- More than 48 hours before scheduled puja → Full advance refunded (100% of 40% paid)
- 24 to 48 hours before scheduled puja → 50% of advance refunded (i.e., 20% of total order value)
- Less than 24 hours before scheduled puja → Advance is non‑refundable
- No‑show on the day of puja → Advance is non‑refundable
The 60% balance is never charged if the service is cancelled before commencement. You will not owe anything beyond the advance already paid.
2.2 Samagri / Puja Material Orders
- Samagri cost is non‑refundable once purchased, regardless of cancellation timing.
- Samagri charges will be deducted from any applicable refund on the advance.
2.3 Online Puja Bookings
- Cancellation more than 24 hours in advance: Full 40% advance refunded.
- Cancellation within 24 hours: Advance is non‑refundable.
- Once the online session has commenced, 60% balance becomes due and no refund is granted on the advance.
3. After Service Commencement — Balance Payment (60%)
- The 40% advance is fully non‑refundable.
- The 60% balance becomes due and payable upon service completion.
- Balance must be paid within 2 hours of service completion via the app.
- Withholding the 60% balance without raising a valid dispute through the Platform is a breach of these terms.
- If you have a genuine complaint about service quality, raise it through 'My Bookings → Raise Issue' before refusing payment.
- Disputed balance amounts will be held in escrow pending resolution (typically within 48 hours).
Pandits are not permitted to demand cash or extra payments beyond the agreed booking amount. Report any such request to support immediately.
4. Cancellation by the Pandit
If a pandit is unable to perform the puja due to illness, emergency, or force majeure, Thamb will:
- Notify you at the earliest opportunity.
- Offer a replacement pandit of equal or higher qualification.
- If no replacement is accepted, the full 40% advance will be refunded within 3–5 business days.
Thamb is not liable for any indirect losses due to pandit cancellations.
5. Rescheduling Policy
- Reschedule more than 24 hours before puja: Free of charge (subject to availability).
- Reschedule within 24 hours: A fee of ₹200 may apply.
- Maximum 1 free reschedule per booking.
- The 40% advance carries forward to the new date.
- Rescheduling is subject to muhurat and pandit availability.
6. Non‑Refundable Circumstances
- The puja was completed as scheduled (dissatisfaction must be raised before completion).
- Cancellation less than 24 hours before puja.
- Customer no‑show.
- Incorrect address or access issues preventing service.
- Disruption caused by the customer or their household.
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, government restrictions).
